Welcome to Chambonneau Castle

On the edge of the forest, this historical and central site of Poitou hosts a Fortress that Philippe VI of Valois began to build. The Castle was finished under Henri IV (1609).
This historical site witnessed many episodes of Hundred Years War and the Wars of Religion. You will also discover how the Castle managed to get through the Second World War. Come and visit this place where you can feel the atmosphere of History. Come and see some unique structures such as the dovecot, one of the most ancient with its original ladder still in order in Western France.
